SOP - Adding Attic stock

Adding Attic stock

VISION:

This process was created so that when Estimators/Experts receive a request to add an Attic stock, they know how and what to add to the proposal.

COMMITMENT:

This applies to all Estimators and Experts

EXECUTION:

See steps below

TEMPLATES AND RESOURCES:

What is "Attic Stock"?

"Attic Stock" refers to extra materials or spare parts that are provided and stored after a construction or renovation project. These materials are typically intended for future maintenance, repairs, or replacements and are usually the same as those originally installed in the building. For windows, “Attic stock” typically includes extra items and materials that are useful for maintenance, repairs, or replacements.

Purpose of “Attic Stock”:

- Ensures consistent appearance and materials in future repairs or replacements.

- Reduces the need to source matching materials, which may no longer be available.

- Facilitates quicker repairs, minimizing downtime in commercial or residential spaces. Storage of “Attic Stock”:

- Although the term suggests "attic," it doesn't always mean the items are stored in an attic. Instead, they may be stored in a dedicated storage room, warehouse, or other appropriate location within the facility.

If Attic stock items are required, this will be specified in the CIS as “Yes” (for the first Proposal). If the need for Attic stock arises later, full details will be provided in the revision request.

How much and what to add as "Attic Stock"?

- If the request contains the types and quantities of “Attic Stock” items, please refer to the information in the request

- If the request specifies that “Attic Stock” items are to be added according to the information in the specifications, then add the quantities and types of “Attic stock” items according to the information in the specifications

- If the request does not specify what to add and how much to add, then use the default "Attic Stock" item types and quantities:

·        All types of handles used in the project (5%)

·        All types of limiters used in the project (5%)

·        All types of hinges used in the project (5%)

·        Touch-up pen (5 units of each color used in the project)

·        5 screens each of the two most used positions

Here is an example if you need an accessory with a quantity of 40.

How do you include "Attic Stock" in the quote?

- You need to create a separate draft for the needed accessories and add it to the proposal as the last draft (enter highest number in the "Choosing" tab).

- Attic Stock items need to be added via Glass, etc. option, Accessories for SUPERA 74 (or SUPERA 83 if you use this system)

- When entering attic stock accessories in WebCalc, enter the total required quantity of the accessory in the “Quantity” field, and leave the Accessory "Count” as 1. This ensures that the information is presented clearly and that accurate data is transferred to the shop drawing, where it is visible to the client and used by the Production Estimating team for processing orders.

What to do if we do not have the required item in the Accessory list?

- In cases when there is no specific item in Accessory list, we can use Add position option and include them manually with accessory picture, dimensions and price.
