Description of the Double check process of projects at the Shop Drawing stage |
VISION: |
This document has been created to provide guidance to estimators-experts on what to check during a double check |
|
COMMITMENT:
|
This applies to all Estimators – Experts |
|
DESCRIPTION: |
When a project is assigned to an Expert, they take full responsibility for the project and ensure smooth execution of the assigned tasks until the project is handed over for production. Upon receiving the project, it is recommended to take a few minutes to review and familiarize yourself with the project specifics and scope. Projects should be reviewed as promptly as possible, considering the current workload. The project may be double checked by an expert other than the one to whom it is assigned.
During the double check, the Expert carefully examines all relevant project information, including drawings, specifications, related documents (if any), proposals, notes, and comments provided by the Estimator. Any errors identified during this process must be corrected. The Estimator who handled the project up to the shop drawing stage should be available to assist the Expert in understanding project details to ensure a successful continuation.
A recommended checklist (see below) is provided below; however, it can be adjusted as needed. It serves as a helpful tool to facilitate the efficient handover of the project, ensure corrections are made, and maintain a smooth transition to the production team. |
